Reading American odds
US sportsbooks quote American odds. A plus price is the profit on a $100 stake: +150 wins $150. A minus price is the stake needed to win $100: -150 risks $150 to win $100. Even money is +100.
The formulas
Plus prices: decimal = 1 + odds / 100. Minus prices: decimal = 1 + 100 / |odds|. Decimal odds are the total return per $1, stake included, so 2.50 returns $2.50 on a $1 bet. Implied probability is 1 divided by the decimal price. Fractional odds are the profit over the stake, so 3/2 is the same price as +150 and 2.50.
Implied probability still includes the book's margin. To strip it out and see the fair chance, use the no-vig calculator on both sides of the market.
